Who doesn't know which is the Thonet chair? At least if you like interior design, you should. The original cafe chair were designed in 1859 and is considered the most successful mass produced in the world to date. The basis was a new technique -the bending of solid wood - that Michael Thonet developed and perfected during the 1850s and it was the first time serial furniture production was possible.
But recently, Robert Stadler has created a new chair called 107 for Thonet. The new design borrows the language of the original but incorporates a flat backrest and can be produced in a process that's almost entirely automated.
The 107 has been designed by Stadler for the interior of a restaurant in Paris to the Corso brand. Words of Stadler:
"To design a new bistrot chair for Thonet is a touchy task. Initially I was proposed to customize a typical Thonet chair for the Corso restaurants, for which I am in charge of the design. But I preferred to elaborate a new chair instead of producing one more Designer comment on this essential piece of furniture. My starting point was the fact that today chair 214 (historically baptized Nr. 14) is rather expensive, which represents a certain break in regards to Thonet’s history. "

Quién no conoce la famosa silla Thonet? Al menos si te gusta el diseño de interiores o la decoración deberías de conocerla. Fue diseñada en 1859 y es considerada la silla con mayor éxito en fabricación en serie con más de 30 millones hasta 1930. La silla se realizó mediante la curvatura de la madera mediante una técnica tradicional curvada al vapor.
Recientemente, el austriaco Robert Stadler basándose en esta silla ha creado la silla 107 para Thonet. Continua con el mismo lenguaje que la original pero entre sus novedades se encuentra que puede producirse en un método casi automático y en el respaldo plano.
La silla 107 ha sido creada por Stadler para el interior de un restaurante en París para la marca Corso.

Camper stores has always shine because of their decoration, and any of them are the same as others. This is the new shop in Rome designed by the London designer Doshi Levien. From words of Levien, the shop concept is inspired by the earthy, sun baked, solid architectural elements of the Mediterranean. It has an authentic, monolithic simplicity of materials, with magical highlights. It references the idea of Eternal Summer and playfully re-appropiates everyday architectural and interior elements of the Mediterranean.
It feels like a shop that has been there forever; solid, sturdy, using materials that can be touched and washed.
Las tiendas Camper siempre han destacado, además de por los zapatos, por la decoración. Ninguna tienda es igual que otra. Esta es la nueva tienda en Roma diseñada por el diseñador londinense Doshi Levien. En palabras de Levien, para realizar ha tenido como referencia el sol, la arquitectura mediterráneo, los materiales del mediterraneo, etc. Materiales simples que destacan por su luz. Él destaca la idea del eterno verano y adapta o actualiza los típicos materiales del mediterráneo.
El resultado es una tienda que parece haber estado siempre ahí, firme, inamovible, con materiales que puedes tocar y sentir.

This pavilion is the first completed building in the UK constructed by Peter Zumthor, where we can also find a specially created garden by the influential Dutch designer Piet Oudolf.
The concept of this year to create the pavilion was "hortus conclusus" what means contemplation and reflections. From the entrance, the way to the "hortus conclusus" starts slowly by the dark corridor through the central garden where you can be calmed far away from noises and you can find a serene, contemplative environment. This central space is designed to observe different kind of plants and flowers.
Like we can see in the previous work of Peter Zumthor, the materials and light are so important what makes Zumthor's work so spiritualand unique.
Este pabellón es el primer edificio construido por Peter Zumthor en el Reino Unido, donde también ha participado el famoso paisajista holandés Piet Outdolf. El tema de este año era "hortus conclusus", lo que significa contemplación y reflexión. Este concepto comienza a través del oscuro pasillo que nos conduce al jardín central donde se respira un ambiente calmado, contemplativo y sereno que invita a observar las diferentes especies de plantas y flores.
Como hemos podido observar en anteriores trabajos de Zumthor, los materiales y la iluminación son esenciales, lo que hace que su trabajo sea único y espiritual.
