The new San Telmo Museum is the extension of the old one, that at first was a convent. The authors of this building are Nieto Sobejana Arquitectos and was finished in the beginning of this year. Next to the old building the new one was added creating between two of them some internal conexions.
The most characteristic feature in the building is the vegetable wall that tries to hide or imitate the mountain behind it to acclimatize it with the environment. Although what we can see in this moment are the holes that are letting plants to go trough because they haven't still grown up.

La nueva conexión al antiguo museo San Telmo (antiguo convento) es la propuesta de Nieto Sobejana Arquitectos. Al antiguo museo se le añadió un nuevo edificio, y además, se han añadido conexiones puntuales entre estos dos volúmenes.
Lo que más llama la atención del nuevo edificio es la fachada creada a modo de "muro vegetal" que aún tiene que crecer para cubrir el edificio entero que ha sido creado por los artistas Leopoldo Ferrán y Agustina Otero. La intención de este muro vegetal es aclimatarse a su entorno, ya que se encuentra en las faldas del monte Urgull. Ahora lo que se ve mayormente son las perforaciones del muro que dejan pasar a la vegetación que todavía está por crecer, que también imitan a las rocas del monte, en las que los arquitectos se han inspirado para crear el edificio.
