COOL SPACES TOUR: GREY+FLOWERS+DOTS+RED+STRIPES =COOL APARTMENT

  When the owner bought this apartment decided that she didn't want to live in a small and a dark space. So she knocked the walls that separated the kitchen and the living room down, getting a luminous and a spacious room. To improve this sensation the floor was chosen in a lightened oak and the walls were painted in grey. Moreover most of the furniture is in light colours. But to avoid a monotonus look, she added some colour by the use of differents wallpapers and some pieces of furniture in bright colours.

  Al adquirir este apartamento la dueña lo tuvo claro, iba a tirar los tabiques que separaban el salón y la cocina para crear un único espacio. La cocina era demasiado grande, el salón pequeño y había un pasillo estrecho y oscuro sin sentido. Al tirar los tabiques se obtuvo un espacio que engloba los usos, facilitando la circulación de la luz y aportando sensación de amplitud. Con la intención de fomentar la claridad y la amplitud se eligió un suelo claro, y las paredes se pintaron de gris. Para dar unas pinceladas de color y que el espacio no resultase monótono, algunas paredes se vistieron con papel pintado de distintos estampados. Esto continua en la elección del mobiliario, en grises y en aluminio contrastando con otros estampados y de color para dar más vida al apartamento.

   AD of April show us the attic of the designer David Delfin. How can I describe this house? Colours, different styles, a lot of peculiar objects of flea markets, souvenirs from journeys, objects bought in ebay, ...The most peculiar thing at the house is the wall decorated by hundreds of Pez candies dispensers from the 70's. 

  According to David's words, at first he brought few things with him to this house. It was almost empty.  Then he bought furniture without thinking. He bought things because he liked them, and later all the objects had found their right place. Above you can see the result.

  AD abril nos abre las puertas del ático madrileño de David Delfín, inseparable de Bimba Bosé. Como definirla? Color, mucha mezcla de estilos y  multitud de objetos de rastros, souvenirs de viajes, de subastas de ebay, porcelana, objetos setenteros, etc. Lo más peculiar de la casa es la pared museo de caramelos Pez de los años 70. 

  Según las palabras de David, primero trajo muy pocas cosas a esta casa. Estaba practicamente vacía. A continuación, según sus propias palabras fue comprando a lo bestia, por placer e intuición y las cosas fueron encontrando su sitio: los payasos con el circo, los caniches con los caniches, las flores con las flores, y así.. El resultado es el que veis a continuación:

On the right, british kitchen furniture of 60's.

Al fondo a la derecha, mueble de cocina inglés de los años 60. Sillón central tapizado por David con una tela de la tejeduría de Ramón.

In the middle belgian armchair of 50's with silk pillows by Jim Thompson with Gabito doll. Coffe table of iron, teakwood and glazed tile all by Amapola.

En medio sofá belga de los años 50 con cojines de seda de Jim Thompson y su muñeco Gabito. Mesa de centro de hierro, teca y azulejo todo en Amapola.

On top of the bed Alaska's (spanish singer) portrait by Juan Gatti. As bedside table a footstool from El Teatro de los Sueños. On the page of the left, Vitra Eames Elephant and Mini Thonet from a flea market. Bookcase of ebay with old and new things. One of them is a Barbie of the movie The Birds with the Crow of Eames.   

Sobre la cama Alaska retratada por Juan Gatti. Como mesilla taburete de El Teatro de los Sueños. En la página de la izquierda, taburete Elephant de los Eames. Mini Thonet del rastro. Estantería de ebay con cosas antiguas y modernas. Barbie de los Pajaros con cuervo de los Eames al lado.

In the corridor the collection of Keychain Candies. The dog is real, it is not a esculture, and it's name is Ali.

En el pasillo la colección de dispensadores de caramelos pez. El perro de la derecha es de verdad aunque no lo parezca, y se llama Ali.
